Underground Remains Open Air 2023

Formed in the summer of 2019 by promising, up-and-coming guitarists Sonia Anubis (Crypta, ex-Burning Witches) and Sebastian “Spyder” Silva (Idle Hands, Silver Talon, ex-Spellcaster), Cobra Spell are influenced by the golden era sound of the ’80s. Anxiously wanting to start a band, the duo’s dreams were further cemented after meeting metal legend Alice Cooper, who advised the guitarists to follow their dreams of making music together.

To complete the lineup, Sonia and Sebastian enlisted the support of like-minded musicians with a burning desire for over-the-top antics on-stage and unique style to match. Alexx Panza (Hitten, Jack Starr’s Burning Starr) takes command and channels ’80s-metal greats with powerful, reverberating vocals, while Angelina Vehera lays a steady, rockin’ foundation with earth-shattering, rumbling bass, and Mike ‘Lucas’ Verhof creates the backbone with machine-gun-like drumming tenacity.

Cobra Spell are armed and ready to blaze a trail of sleazy nostalgia while bringing renewed relevance to an under-appreciated era of heavy metal.
