My Coffin Rats

'My Coffin Rats' is the band from Minsk, which sound is the mix of deathrock-drive, second wave of gothic-rock vocals and the elements of horror punk.
The project was created by Vlad the Black (vocals) in spring 2010. The beginning of the art way was established with the participation of Nancy 666 ('disaster age') and Ignat (an old friend of Vlad). Vlad and Ignat gave a name to the project - 'Velvet Whisper'.
The name 'My Coffin Rats' represents different kinds of events, memories, challenges that have brought disappointment and suffering to anybody. These are peculiar metaphorical skeletons from the author s closet. All of these things are the very 'coffin rats'
The first structure of the band had existed only for one month, and completely changed at the moment of first performance in the beginning of December 2010: Borgir on guitar, Linn on bass, Diana ('Showgrit' band) on backing vocals. Drums & synthesizer parties were performed by notebook. The performance took place in 'Sfera' club in Minsk. Immediately after the performance Diana and Linn refused to play in the band.
Nevertheless, by happy coincidence, at that party were Albert and Eugene, guitar and drums of just disbanded 'Ars Notoria' death-doom band. But still the band needed a permanent guitarist; Borgir was busy with his own project. Guys had one good guitarist in mind, but the problem was that he was a blues & rock'n'roll player. Nevertheless, he was interested in the project and soon the musicians found a common language. So, the band got a new member - Vlad the White.
In new structure band played a concert in 'Saltime' club, where a lot of parties with 'My Coffin Rats' were held later. After that, the 4-song demo was recorded.
In the end of summer 2011 'My Coffin Rats' were noticed by Alexander Stavros ('Deathcave Festival', 'Hapalochlaena_Maculosa') from St. Petersburg, an organizer of gothic-parties. During the festival, guys met Anoli Nicure (oldschoolgoth.ru) who became a manager of the band.
After 'Deathcave' the band absolutely eventually got a keyboardist - Stas, who played with them in December 2011 at 'KarMa New Year' in St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, he left the band in February 2012.
At the moment, 'My Coffin Rats' are working on new songs and the final concep of the new full-length album, which is recording now. Live performances still take place.
