Mindwork

The thought of creating a band MINDWORK started shaping up approximately in summer 2006 when Martin left a thrash/death band ARAWEN. Considering the fact, that for quite some time he also played in a project DEAFENING SILENCE, which consisted of skilled musicians, a choice of band members was pretty obvious. And so a post of guitar player was taken by David and a post of bass player by Adam. The only missing thing was a drummer. Since September 2006 a material, consisting entirely of ARAWEN songs, started to be rehearsed in this 3-piece group (excluding a drum machine). When the material was in a stage of almost-ready-to-be-presented, a suitable candidate for a post of drummer started to be searched for. The search took about 3 months and culminated with accession of Filip to the band. It was precisely on 15. 2. 2007 at 17:15 of local time. This day may be considered official rise of the band MINDWORK. First concert took place on 20.9.2007 in a club EXIT Chmelnice with RETURN TO INNOCENCE. On 21. 3. 2008 the band travels to studio Shaark to record it's first recording "Inside The Consciousness (Promo '08)". Promo is finised on 22. 5. 2008 in the late evening in studio Hostivař, where the final mix and mastering took place. MINDWORK performs it's first concert on a really big event on 14. 8. 2008 at 15:25 on Brutal Assault festival. On 6. 2. 2009 the band initiates works on a debut LP record "Into The Swirl" in studio Šopa, which ends of the day 18. 2. 2009 under the producer's wand of Stanislav Valášek. During the next days negotiations on releasing this record take place and are succesfully ended of the day 4. 4. 2009 when the album is released under the auspices of Shindy Productions. "Into The Swirl" is accepted wonderfully, it scores amazingly and gathers very positive responses from expert reviewers in Czech Rep. and abroad. Thanks to concurrence of lucky circumstances the album manages to make it to US market via addition to catalogue of The Omega Order e-shop. Debut album's accomplishments culminate with nomination in prestigious annual award Anděl (in category Hard & Heavy) and in annual award Břitva with nomination (in category Recording of the Year) and even with winning (in category Discovery of the Year). In May 2010 the band hits the road with it's first outland week long tour as a support of a band BANISHER on their "Slaughterhouse tour". On 27.8.2010 David Vaněk leaves MINDWORK for good. The reason being a change of personal priorities and a lack of free time. Everything went on a friendly level. He plays his last MINDWORK concert on 11. 8. 2010 on "pre-Assault Show" of Brutal Assault festival. Forunately replacement for David was soon to come and the freed post is being taken on 24.9.2010 by Honza Tölg at that time playing in bands OKROZOM and BELTAINE. Unfortunately Honza Tölg doesn't stay long in the band and after several months he leaves the band on 5.5.2011.
