FängörN was founded in St-Petersburg city in the middle of 2007 as heavy metal band, but chose folk metal as its primary genre and began to work in that direction. Constant changes of the members of the band were a big problem back in those days. Especially about keyboards which played not the least role in the music of the group. After endless changes, the band has acquired constant members. Band takes a title Fangorn and makes it first gig on the 5th of march in 2008 in St-Petersburg’s club called ‘Arktika’ on the folk-metal-festival and that symbolized the beginning of the concert activities. In summer, 2008 Fangorn recorded a first demo called “Крепкое пиво троллей” consisting just of two songs. Suddenly keyboard-player decided to take a break with the music and left the band soon after that. He had a problem with his studies and work. Soon in May 2009 Fangorn found a new keyboard-player and decided to record the first album called “Mysterious Land’’. This album was recorded in Russia, but it was mixed & mastered by Anssi Kippo at Astia-studio ‘A’ (Lappeenranta, Finland) in November 2009.
