About Korypheus

KORYPHEUS is metal/progressive metal unit from Kiev, Ukraine, formed in 2016 by front man Andrey (Andy) Gushin. Their lineup features Andy Gushin on lead vocals, Jullian Torse on extreme vocals, Max Oshkalo on lead guitar, Ruslan Drozd on bass and Yaroslav Shcherbyna on drums.

December 2018 saw Korypheus unleash their debut album «Blessed» to the world, a powerful progressive-rock composition riddled with riffs and piercing melodies, which in a short time have grabbed the ears and attention of music fans worldwide.

Their second album «Over the rainbow» was released in November 2020 via French metal label M&O Music. Korypheus combines multiple heavy metal subgenres with a keen ear for melody and epic song structures.

Korypheus's playing style incorporates elements of alternative metal, progressive metal, post-rock. The band has mentioned many of their influences for their music, including Gojira, Black Sabbath, Mastodon, Opeth, Devin Townsend etc.

Korypheus have performed regularly at Ukrainian venues and festivals such as MonteRay Summer Rock Fest, Power of Ukraine, FriDayMare Fest, Metal Bleeding and many more, bringing their progressive rock compositions to the live stage as well as being loved for their live covers of Black Sabbath.
